Minimally Invasive Ultrasound-Guided Vacuum-Assisted Breast Biopsy and Complete Excision of Benign Breast Tumors
Overview of Ultrasound-Guided Mammotome Excision
Mammotome (Vacuum-Assisted Breast Biopsy & Excision) is a minimally invasive procedure that removes benign breast tumors (such as fibroadenomas, complex cysts, or intraductal papillomas) and collects sufficient tissue for definitive histopathology through a tiny 3–5 mm opening without open surgical scarring. At Soul Plastic Surgery, all Mammotome procedures are performed directly by Breast & Endocrine Surgery Subspecialist Dr. Ji-Hye Jeong.
Why Choose Mammotome at Soul Plastic Surgery?
- Real-Time Ultrasound Guidance: Continuous high-resolution ultrasound tracking ensures complete lesion removal while protecting surrounding normal breast tissue (or existing breast implants).
- 3–5 mm Micro-Incision Without Sutures: Performed under local anesthesia in approximately 20–30 minutes; the tiny entry site is placed along the periareolar or inframammary border and heals with minimal visibility.
- Same-Day Outpatient Recovery: No general anesthesia or overnight hospitalization is required.
