Canthoplasty (Epicanthoplasty & Lateral/Lower)
4-Directional Medial, Upper, Lateral, and Lower Canthoplasty for Balanced Horizontal and Vertical Eye Proportions
Overview of 4-Directional Canthoplasty
Canthoplasty refines the horizontal length, vertical aperture, intercanthal distance, and outer corner tilt of the eyes. At Soul Plastic Surgery, our Eye Surgery team combines up to four anatomical vectors with minimal conjunctival/periosteal tension so the corners remain stable without re-adhesion.
Four Canthoplasty Directions
- Medial Epicanthoplasty: Releases tight medial epicanthal folds that cover the inner corner of the eye and widen intercanthal distance.
- Upper Canthoplasty: Elevates the 45-degree medial-upper eyelid curve blocked by the epicanthal fold, often combined with Double Eyelid Surgery for a smooth In-Out or Semi-Out line.
- Lateral Canthoplasty: Extends the horizontal palpebral fissure at the outer corner with periosteal fixation to prevent re-attachment.
- Lower Canthoplasty: Gently lowers the outer lower lid margin to soften a sharp, slanted upward outer corner tilt.
